Merry Christmas

It's christmas! I love christmas! It's the time of year to be with family and friends. It's also the time of year when I gain lots of weight.  Cookies ,tamales, menudo, etc, etc. I love it all! 

Even though christmas is a happy holiday I tend to get a little sad. I start thinking of the soldiers who are away from their families and how alone they must feel. Let us pray for them and hope that this war will be over soon.

My new craft area

Hello!

Hello everyone. I know I haven't been blogging or doing much of anything lately, but I am working on some ideas for tutorials. Also, I finally have a place to craft on again and I will be taking some pics of that soon.

Can't believe christmas is just around the corner. This year me and my husband have decided to spend  alot of our christmas money on charity. I'm hoping this will show my daughter how lucky will all are to have a home, food and all those little things that seem like nothing. It's amazing what things we take for granted.

No More Miss Fatty Fat!

So I decided this week is my last week of being Miss Fatty Fat. I'm not really going on a diet but I'll be watching how many calories I take in a day and start to be more active. I'm trying to do 1200 calories a day. I don't know if that's good or not. Maybe I should look that up. I'm really tired of being overweight. It's not about being skinny I just want to be healthy.

On another note. As you all know I had to give up my craft room. My husband, daughter and I live with my parents and for the last 3 or 4 weeks my nephew has been staying here. Poor kid had to sleep on a blow up mattress in the living room. Well that wasn't working. We decided to give him my craft room so that he could be more comfortable. All my stuff is packed and I'm going crazy! I'm trying to find a corner somewhere in the house where I can work. Haven't had any luck. Sad me! My husband had an idea of getting a sturdy 6ft long garage shelf and make a work area out of that. We will have to make room somehow in our bedroom but I think it might work. I really do hope this works cause I have no outlet and my brain is going mushy. I will put up some pics if this idea goes through. If it doesn't happen you'll know cause I'll be on here whining.

Shop closed

My shop will be closed for a couple of weeks due to my nephew moving in. I have to pack my items for while until we get his room comfortable for him. This is not the end. I will return.

Oops section in my Etsy shop

I have made a new section in my Etsy shop called oops. This section is of items I have made that are not as perfect as I like them to be. All the items in the oops section will be discounted from 30%-50% off. Here's some pendants that I will be listing later on today. Why are these in oops? The paper edge is showing a little too much for my taste. I will be listing these for $3. What a deal!

New Zipper Pouches

I have a couple of new pouches in my Etsy Shop. Please stop by and take a look.
Use this pouch for school, art supplies, make up, etc. You can also use it to organize those items in your bag that are floating around. I always have trouble finding my pens in my bag, so I just throw my pens along with my checkbook in the pouch to make it so much easier to find.

Quick and Easy Hard Cover Journal Tutorial

Hi everyone. Here's my new tutorial. It's very much like the mini art journal tutorial except for this one has a hard cover to it. Takes less than a half hour to make and there's so many embellishing possibilities. I hope you all like it. Enjoy.

Walking My Dog

Every day I take my dog out for a brisk walk. She always has to walk so fast. We usually take about 30 minutes to complete our walk. Today I decided to slow it down. Our walk took about an hour. She was very upset about that. She is actually on my bed as we speak snoring. I took my camera with me to see what I could capture. Never did I imagine how beautiful my neighborhood could be. See what happens when you slow things down? These are some pictures I took. My favorite is the leaf with the dew on it. That means that fall is really on it's way. Yay! No more 100 degrees weather. I might have to do this more often.

Zipper Pouch Tutorial

I tried filming the zipper pouch tutorial today and it was a complete disaster. I can't seem to get a good view of the sewing machine. So this tutorial will be on hold for now. I might just make a tutorial with pics and no video. We'll see how that goes. Sorry guys.

Tutorials

I'm finally back. My sis came to stay with us for about a week and a half and during that time I got really lazy. I didn't work on much and now it's catch up time. I'm working on getting two new tutorials done for youtube. One will be "How To Make A Zipper Pouch" and the other will be something like the Mini Art Journal tutorial but this one will have a hard cover to it. There's so much to do and so little time. I hope I can get it all done within a couple of weeks. I'll keep you all posted.

Drawstring Bags

More drawstring bags are coming soon! I'm working on getting at least 4 done this week. Let's see how that goes. I'm also working on a bigger size. They're currently 10" x 10" and I'm thinking I should make it maybe a couple of inches bigger. So keep an out!

Designers Block

I'm sitting here just staring at my computer screen thinking about creating new bags. I can't seem to get any fresh ideas. It's so hard to make a design that doesn't look like everyone else's. So for now I think I will just keep making my 3 ring binder pencil pouches and what nots. I hate having designers block. I feel like I'm not using my brain to fullest. Hmmm, maybe chocolate will help.

Getting ready for the new school year

I can't believe we're in the middle of July already. Time sure is going fast. This means the new school year is just around the corner. I'll be adding some more pencil pouches to my Etsy shop in the next couple of weeks. Also I will be adding a new item.

Here's a sneak peak of what's to come. This is an index card binder. It measures 4"x6" and is filled with 50 ruled index cards.

Michael Jackson Will be missed

It's a sad day in the entertainment world. Michael Jackson has passed away at the age of 50 due to cardiac arrest. Being a child of the 80's I know how huge he really was. Even though his final years had a lot of turmoil he will always be the King of Pop. With that said here is the video that me and my sisters stayed up until midnight to watch and ended up sleeping in my parents bed. My favorite video "Thriller"

Mini Art Journal

Here's a mini art journal that I made this afternoon. It measures 5 1/2"h x 4"w, is made out of heavy card stock and has 14 pages counting front and back. Since it's made with heavy card stock it's just begging for mixed media. You can also use it to doodle, scrapbook or anything else you can think of. Perfect for a travel journal. I'm thinking of doing a tutorial on it. I've never done a tutorial so this might take a while. I will keep you posted.

I'm Still Here

I'm still here everyone. I'm getting back into the groove of things again and hopefully I can get new items listed in my Etsy shop. I've been doing alot of mini scrapbooks and will post some pics of them whenever i get the time. Right now I'm working on a recipe mini album and will post pics as soon as I'm done. I really have become addicted to these mini albums that I haven't had time for my Etsy shop. I need to learn how to balance my time. See you next time.
